If I'm being honest (and I do try to be honest), today was hard... and hard for no particular reason except life. I cried a lot. I felt anxious about life and work and creativity and business. I am/was overwhelmed with all the thoughts in my head and ideas for everything -- designs, future plans, who I want to be, what I want C&C to be, what I should do today, tomorrow, next week, this year, next year, how should I print this thing I designed... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There's a lot. And sometimes the brokenness of the world and of my own life presses in. But my prayer for today, for my life and business, is that I would push back the darkness. To use @andrewpeterson language, I want what I do to adorn the darkness. God is a maker of beauty. Even in the brokenness, you can see his glory shouting from creation. Reality has not been what I wanted. Yesterday I took my car for an oil change and subsequently spent four hours at the garage figuring out what to do and getting a rental car because my front brakes are broken. It's not what I wanted and it's overwhelming and frustrating. It's brokenness. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But before my afternoon of gross, a friend treated me to a yummy lunch where she loved me intensely, where I was seen and known. We remembered together and believed together that God is big.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don't feel like God is big today, I may not even want to believe it, but that's why we need each other. I hope you have someone to remind you.
